The Universal Racing Services (URS)Classic FF1600 Championship has existed in its current guise since 1994, when it was formed out of the amalgamation of Pre 74, 74-80 and Formula E. It is the longest running national FF1600 championship in the UK, and its success is partly attributed to its promotion and support by the Classic Formula Ford Register. The Championship caters for any FF1600 built prior to 31 Dec 1981, and runs in 2 Classes - A (1974-81) and B (pre 74). Cars are regularly available at affordable prices, Class A normally £5-7000, B usually over £10000. The 2008 Championship covered 12 rounds on 9 race meetings throughout England and Wales, and is expected to be a 10 race Championship in 2009. A cost effective way to race competitively in single seaters visiting some of the best tracks in Britain. Novice drivers compete within their own mini championship. The Championship is sponsored both by Universal Racing Services and Bernard Baxter Engineering. See the Classic Formula Ford Register's website for more information.
