The championship was formed in 1988 by the Anglia Centre of the MG Car Club in response to the number of drivers who would like to race against different models of MG's in the same race. The championship was originally based around the Snetterton circuit and includes a variety of cars including MG T Types, MG1300 & 1100s, Metros, MGBs, MGCs, MG Midgets, MGAs as well as MGFs, ZR's & ZS's in 6 different classes according to the modification of the car. It has been a very competitive and a successful championship over the years with a variety of drivers in different cars winning the championship. The first overall champion in 1988 was Tony Howe in a MG Metro Turbo, the current champion for 2008 is David Brooke in a Class B MGB GT V8. In 1996, Don Kettleborough gave the MGF its first competitive outing, he went on to win the championship in that year. We are now in the 22nd year and are looking forward to another successful season of competitive racing for the Championship.
