Description
Immaculate Hillclimb Sports Racer completed in 2007 with Trailer and ready to win.
This car was originally built in 2003 as one of 4 Blackbird engined prototypes for the Formula X series that only ran for a couple of seasons. If you Google Formula x you can see the car in it's alternate form as a single seater. Only side rad pods, front wing and engine cowl would be needed from VD to convert. The sides and front are already fitted to the car 2 cars in one! A spare set of Sports Racer bodywork is included.
The car was completely rebuilt from bare chassis to hillclimb spec and completed in mid 2007. The chassis was considerably lightened, altered to accept a Hayabusa and powder coated. Many new parts were used in the rebuild (photo's and data supplied) The 1400cc Busa was new in 2006 and built by Rob McDonnel at Mistral Engineering. It has specifically designed exhaust system by manufactured by Tony Law exhausts. It has only done 8 meetings, 2 DNF (chain) 2 seconds and 4 wins with a pensioner at the wheel! Harewood 57.87 Elvington 69.18 (4TH.FTD.)The car is quicker than my SR3. Mistral engines are the fastest 'bikes' on 4 wheels ask Ed Hollier and Brodie Branch!
The car was completly rewired with SBD engine loom and MBE ecu controlling the injection system. It has a Pi steering wheel mounted dash with a 1" thick manual for those who can't sleep at night. A Geartronics position indicator is fitted on the steering wheel. The paddle shift is by Proshift and this is now sorted to give smooth clutchless flat shifts. Components for a Manual gear linkage and a Pneumatic system are included. The brakes were specially made for the car, 6mm thick lightwt. discs with lightwt. alloy calipers. The original AP Racing calipers and discs are included. The dampers are Koni 2812 very light double adjustable and have just been revalved and checked at Gould Engineering works. A new Quaife ATB diff have just been fitted. The suspension set up has been done by Allan Staniforth.
Two set of Oz wheels with Avon slick and wets are included.
The flat bed PRG Trailer was specially made for the car last year and has alloy runways, 8ft. pull out alloy ramps, tyre rack, winch and fixed holding down ratchets. There is also a top quality tailored towing cover.
The car is reluctantly for sale due to family circumstances that mean I need a small light wt. car that I don't need assistance with. The car is sorted and ready to win especially in younger hands and at under 20K it's a bargain.
